See, I’ll be doin’ about 80 on your freeway

You Ain't No Picasso has created a great mix of covers entitled Now That's What I Call Indie Covers! volume 1. Some great ones and at least one that may not fit (check comments), but overall pretty fantastic. Favorite may be Superwolf's rendition of R Kelly's Ignition. It's gritty and perfect, just as originally designed. When I heard it a few weeks back I wasn't all that thrilled, but now that it's marinated a bit, and thanks to visual images of Will Oldham grinding on stage with his weird nearly bald head and round belly (look left to imagine the man freaking), I'm a fan.

This is kinda awesome

Congrats to Slate for being right on with this one. I unplugged the Dish a few months ago, but I still long for the Daily Show and Geico's Tiny House commercial. Slate gives the commercial the status of "The Best Ad on Television." I couldn't agree more.

Of course being without The Daily Show is awfully painful. But thanks to all those dvrs out there I stay pretty well connected. The Comedy Central site and One Good Move archive almost all of it, without the commercials!

Sunday

4th of July parade in Polebridge, MT. The Seven Smart Fellas must of won best float. Then there's another smart fella rocking the playground.

Wonderful weather this morning. Not planning on spending my time recaping the weather, but I can't help it on such glorious days.

Family came back into town yesterday. Loving having them back. 8 days away was good, but long.

Mountain biking at Kingdom Trails yesterday was fantastic. Sure I'm a bit banged up, but the riding, weather & company, were great.

Start

Decided to create my blog. Much easier then I had thought. And free.

Today's soundtrack has been courtesy of The Hype Machine. The player of the most popular tunes has created a great mix. May get stale if visited too often, but fun on this occasion.

Least favorite tune has been Bohemian Rhapsody by The Flaming Lips. While I appreciate both the song and artist, it just isn't working together. Covers are fine, but imitation just leaves me thinking of the original.

Fav tune is Hide and Seek by Imogen Heap. Guess they played during Garden State. Don't remember, but perhaps my subconscious knows what's up.

Well that's post numero uno. Nowhere to go from here but up.
